After 7 months of living here I thought I would share with
you 7 lifestyle changes I have made. For those of you who know me well you will be VERY surprised by a few of these!
1. I have adopted a bit of a change in style. I attended a baby
shower where everyone wore fascinators. I wear more dresses, even in winter, as
it is not - 30. I have also embraced the bun on top of the head craze as it is
so stinking windy here J

2. Since I only have a part-time job, I have more time on my
hands. To prevent boredom I joined a gym. And I actually go 3-4 times a week.
Shocking.
3. I have greatly changed my vernacular. I use words like keen,
sweet as, post shop, and togs in everyday conversation without thinking about it! I even sign all my emails "cheers" without the pretension of an American who does that back home.
4. I am cooking more. I make most foods from scratch now
including cakes, muffins, and delicious dinners. I even get up and make Will
hot breakfast most mornings since I’m a housewife and all J

5. I walk almost everywhere. I now would choose to walk 30 min
rather than drive 10: how un-American of me, I know!
6. I eat a globally balanced diet. Normally I might think to
have an “ethnic” food once a month, now we’re making and eating out non-white
people food at least once a week. Indian, sushi, yum char, Indonesian,
Vietnamese, Turkish and Thai so far… Oh and I eat FISH.

7. I’ve been to the beach 3 times in the last 3 days. I’d say that’s
usually my record for a whole summer (a lake beach, not ocean...) and its only December. Summer usually
goes until April, so hopefully I'll actually be tan for more than a week for the first time since I was a kid in Cuba!
