Back to Reality: Recap of the holidays

Wow, I can't believe it's been over a month since I last posted. Tisk, tisk. I guess every time I thought about blogging, I decided to do something outdoors since it's our summer now. Since Christmas we have been on a long, leisurely schedule of holidays (vacations). Both of our offices strongly encourage you to take 3-4 weeks off over Dec-Jan, so we obliged. I apparently also took a break from blogging and skype-ing as I have gotten very behind in my communications. Here is the cliff-notes version of our holiday:

Christmas was spent getting to know some new people. Both of Christmas eve and a bit of Christmas day we hung out with some new friends who also happen to be American. We had just really met this "group" at a birthday dinner and really clicked. We played games on Christmas eve and went for a dip in the ocean on Christmas day. We also had a nice Christmas dinner at my boss, Pip's house. She invited us to join her family and it was a great time. Her 3 children are about our age and very nice to talk to.

One NYE Will's parents arrived for a 2 week visit. NYE was spent at a beach with champagne and a sausage sizzle. I won't go into all the details of their whole trip, but we took them to beaches, mountains, lakes and even skydiving! Some pictures from their trip will be at the bottom of he post. It was great having visitors and we can't wait for more, hint hint.

After the in-laws left we had to go back to work, but it has still been feeling like vacation as the weather has been so nice and we've been saying yes to every social event we're invited to, so we have had something almost every night! Our sleep is definitely starting to take a hit, and we've been planning on going "for a run tomorrow morning before work" all week. Today is Friday and that still hasn't happened :)

This weekend is a holiday weekend and we are planning to lay low since having our plans for a getaway fall though. We'll be doing some hiking and kayaking and maybe even going to watch a regatta!
