A Kiwi Christmas

Merry Christmas to all. We are writing this over a week after Christmas because, well, it's summer here and we've been out enjoying it.

This Christmas some of our dear friends from church invited us to spend the holidays with them and their family at a "bach" or holiday home out in the Coromandel Peninsula. The town we stayed in is called Kuaotunu and is a very small town with a dairy, a coffee shop, a pizza bar and a beach!

Getting ready to hi the road!

We had a great time relaxing and being with our friends. We played board games, cards (I learned how to play Canasta), went for walks and read. Unfortunately it wasn't the best weather for swimming as it was windy and cloudy most of the time, but it was still great. Will got to go fishing one morning on the Jet Ski, which he enjoyed a lot.

Looks like rain?
The beach looking the other way…looks like a beautiful day...

They caught some!

An intense game of Cranium. It was the UK/Aus version so some of the questions were impossible like naming a specific cricket player. I couldn't even name any of them!
Playing cards
Someone really liked her ice cream
We had "5sies" every day at 5. G&Ts and snacks.
Table setting for Christmas dinner featuring our favorite Pohutukawas
We enjoyed a traditional "Christmas Pud"

We are so thankful for our friends and will remember this as an amazing last Kiwi Christmas.
